A (Live) Leap Day Q&A + Conversation
Join me for a bonus hour to gather with other kindred spirits and chat about writing, creativity, and healing.
Can I start with some honesty that I hope isn’t off-putting?
I’ve never enjoyed a conversation with a stranger that has started with, “Can I pick your brain real quick?” Oftentimes, this person has no prior relationship with me and has wanted information that has taken me years (and quite often, a lot of money) to learn. As someone who wants to be generous, I’ve struggled in these situations during which my spidey senses signal a level of discomfort and inappropriateness at the ask.
But I get it!
I’ve wanted to “pick people’s brains” before too. I’ve seen that they’re somewhere I want to go, and I want to know how they got there. It’s understandable. But I’ve also learned that there’s a time and a place—and really, more importantly, there needs to be either a door opened by them first or a relationship first. I’ve also learned that as a writing coach, you really benefit from discovering your own intuitive answers.
Still, I know some of you might have questions for me. I also know that some of you might be in need of a writing coach but not in a financial place to invest in that right now.
I want to create a space to welcome your questions, so I’m hosting my first Q&A and gathering of this year.
Join me live on Leap Day, Thursday, February 29th, at 9 am PT/ noon ET (Zoom invite below).
Once a month, I host a virtual writing room for paid Pen & Mend subscribers. Our writing room is like spending a quiet hour at a library focused on writing the words we want to write. This Leap Day Q&A will be more like a casual meet-up/office hours conversation over coffee with friends.
As an English major, former secondary ed English teacher, certified writing coach, self-published author, agented author, creative entrepreneur, artist, veteran military spouse, bereaved mother, etc. I would love to share what I’ve learned from my professional and personal life to support you as you write and create for healing and hope.
Come with questions about how to find the time to write or create, how to make progress in your writing life, how to establish a journal practice, how to get unstuck or handle rejection, etc.
This will also be a time for you to share your own writing experiences, struggles, progress, and wisdom gained, if you want, and to get to know other Pen & Mend members.
I hope you can make it and that this time will fill you with insights and inspiration!
